Short Biography
Edward John Spencer was born on 24th January 1924 to Albert Spencer and Frances Cynthia Hamilton. Known as John, he married Frances Roche in 1954 and they had 5 children – Sarah, Jane, John who died shortly after birth, Diana and Charles. They divorced in 1976 and he married Raine McCorquodale the same year. Although he had suffered a stroke, Spencer walked his daughter, Diana, down the aisle when she married Prince Charles in 1981. He died of a heart attack on 29th March 1992.
